ST PATRICK'S DAY IN DUBLIN = PUBS, PUBS & MORE PUBS!

Dublin day 4

I got up pretty late, and also noticed that Lea had not come home that night. She had decided to spend the night with her friends, I was kind of glad I had gone back to her place, I really needed to rest.

I got a text from Lea saying she would be home soon, the parade was starting around noon.
I got my St Patrick's day gear on, green, white and yellow bows, a green tshirt, face tattoo and a big Irish flag. By the time we left her apartment the festivities has begun and were already in full swing. The streets were packed, people were climb up every pole possible to get a view. It's nearly impossible to see the parade if you don't get here early as everything is blocked off by these massive covered barriers. I could only make out the tips of the floats, a lot of people had the bright idea of bring ladders and stools! We ended up going further down the street and climbing and gripping ourselves to a fence. I could see a bit more of the parade, I didn't really understand it though, it just seemed like a bunch of random crazy floats thrown together but it was still fun.

The main objective is of course not so much the parade, but heading out to the pubs afterwards. Once the parade wrapped up around 2 pm, we headed to this local burger place then on the way to fritzsimmons pub we cam across this guy playing Kings Of Leon songs on his guitar, he was amazing, really got the crowd going. We started boozing up at the pub, and the party was in full swing. They had a really great band on, playing all the pub classics! We ended up meeting up with a bunch of Lea's friends from France. They were all crazy, drunk and dressed as leprechauns. The evening rolled on, pub after pub, then Lea's boyfriend Joined and somehow a lot of Irish dancing went on. By 10 pm, both Lea and I were already worn out, and headed home.
We stopped at Abracadabra to get some cheese fries on the way back to her place, nothing like some junk food to top it off.
