COPENHAGEN IN 5 MINUTES FOLLOWED BY DRUNKS IN POLAND

Stockholm day 4, Copenhagen, Denmark day 1, Wroclaw Poland, day 1

Figuring out my map of Copenhagen

I got up early, and woke up Dan but then we realized there wasn't going to be enough time to go to the spa so we decided to go get breakfast instead.

When I got to the cafe I noticed that the Brazilian lady was already there. Again she started to complain to me about how cold the room was. I acknowledged her, then went on with my breakfast. As usual time seemed to fly by and I had to head to central station to catch the train to the airport. This time I would be leaving from Arlanda.

When I got to the airport I had a leisurely breakfast then headed to my gate. The flight on Scandinavian airlines was fine, but nothing to write home about.

The view arriving in Copenhagen where I had about a 5 hour stopover was amazing! It looked like some idyllic little paradise. I had gathered some information on the city before and decided I would use this time to get to the center of town and try to see as much as possible. Since my bag was checked in already and I had a boarding pass for my flight to Poland I was pretty much free. When I got the airport I went straight to the information counter, got metro tickets and a map. I jumped on the metro and about 15 minutes later I was in downtown Copenhagen although you could hardly tell. It was really quite, but then I suppose it was a Sunday. It was my mission for find this area called Nyhavn which has these stunning beautiful houses by the water. It didn't take me long to stumble on it, I followed the way around then at one point I ended up right down town. There were some musicians playing in the street and lots of shops, but everything was closed. After wandering around, taking pictures and getting some food it was time to say goodbye and get back to the airport.

I managed to make my way back to the station without too much of a problem, although I almost got on the wrong metro. I didn't have too much time to take in Danish people or their culture, but form what I saw they seemed extremely nice and polite.

When I got the airport I started to head towards my terminal, little did I know it was a 40 minute walk from where I was in the airport. Thank God I had allowed myself plenty of time. I made it to the small gate to get on the flight to Wroclaw.

Modern airport in Denmark

I was seated beside a nice Polish man, we both passed out for most of the flight. When I was arriving into Wroclaw, it was already dark, but the city looked amazing from the air.
The airport was a lot smaller then I expected, very similar to the little one in Sweden with one security guard it seemed standing by. I was greeted by my friend Anna whom would be showing me around town. Her brother picked us up then dropped us off at this 'motel' that Anna had booked. The area looked shady as soon as I got out of the car, but as always I was just happy for a place to sleep. There were a bunch of men drinking and hanging out in front of the entrance, but we just ignored them and went on our way. The room was dingy with graffiti, and there was a scary looking common toilet. After dumping our bags, I decided we should try and look for food. As we excited the place, one of the drunk guys started hitting on me, he was nice so I let him down gently. We found a pizza place by some miracle, since the area looked quite desolate. I paid for Anna and my meal which only cost me 5 Canadian dollars! On the way back to the 'motel' the same guy tried to hit on me again, but we just ignored him and carried on. We went to sleep soon after, there wasn't really anything to do around there.
